Flynn, the Flogo mascot
The Project Flogo team wanted to do more than just create another IoT project, they wanted to cater to a community of developers, outside of the usual users of enterprise software. And so, Flynn the hummingbird was created to represent the core values of Flogo and appeal to a developer community.
Process
I collaborated with stakeholders, product managers, and developers to understand what aspects of mascots appealed to them. I researched the tools and companies that the target developer audience enjoyed using, and how their mascots, if any, were utilized.
I iterated through several mascot design ideas, focusing on an icon that would represent the project’s core values: Lightweight, agile, and friendly.
Curious about the whole story? I wrote about the process on TIBCO’s blog.

Applications
Since Flynn’s inception, I’ve worked on several illustrations and animations for campaigns, events, and new features.

Machine learning demo
To showcase Flogo’s IoT and machine learning capabilities, I created animation sprite sheets, collaborating with a developer to sync animations with how a Flogo app could detect whether a person is walking.
